On November 29, 1986, during the National Day - Organized by the Dutch Ornithological Union (NOU), the Cooperating Organizations Vogelonderzoek Netherlands (SOVON) and the Dutch Society for the Protection of Birds - for the first time Herman Klomp Award. this price is set by the three associations to commemorating the work and person of their former president Prof. Dr. H. Klomp alive (see Limosa 59: 98). The jury hopes that the prize awarded for both Rob Bijlsma as Wim Mullie, Peter Meininger will stimulate to the activities mentioned to continue.
