ROOTH J (1988) Actualities: 33rd Annual International Waterfowl Wetlands Research Bureau. LIMOSA 61 (1): 47-47.

This annual meeting of the IWRB was limited to a days prior to the conference on the wetlands convention. Although kart, this meeting was of great significance for the future of IWRB. the statutes and regulations, which are so extensively discussed in the last annual meeting in Slimbridge (Limosa 60: 43-44), had to be approved. Here, both the objective as the organization changed dramatically. The objective: to stimulate and coordinate scientific research on waterbirds and their habitat, were added to the preservation and propagation of wise use (wise use) of wetlands (water and wetlands) and their natural flora and fauna aile parts of the world. The extension to wetlands in general, other elements fauna, flora and hydrology effort involved is a prerequisite for oak the functioning of the scientific and IWRB Secretariat of the Wetlands Convention.
