DIJKSEN LJ (1989) Breeding attempt of a mixed pair of Lesser Redpoll Carduelis flammea cabaret and Mealy Redpoll C. f. flammea. LIMOSA 62 (1): 48-48.

Mealy Redpoll Carduelis flammea Lesser Redpoll Carduelis cabaret On 25 June 1987, a nesting pair of Redpolls was seen in a dune valley on the island of Texe!. The male belonged to the subspecies cabaret, the female to the subspecies jlammea. A week later the nest was found destroyed, obviously by a predator. Until now, it was thought that Redpolls breeding on Texel all belong to the subspecies cabaret. The female might have been a stay-behind from the large invasion of Mealy Redpolls in the autumn of 1986.
