DIJK K VAN (2008) First record of a wintering Baltic Gull Larus fuscus fuscus in the Netherlands. LIMOSA 81 (4): 151-153.

During the winter of 2006/07, a first-winter colourringed Baltic Gull was reported wintering in and around the city of Groningen (53°13'N, 06°34'E), The Netherlands. The bird was colour-ringed as a nestling in 2006 in south-western Finland (63°38'N, 22°30'E). Plumage and other characters fit to birds from the Finnish breeding population, but don't exclude birds breeding in western and southern Norway. The bird was reported on 28 different days between 8 December 2006 and 7 February 2007. During daytime, the bird was often present in an urban area. Observations near a night roost a few km away suggest that itwas using this roost aswell. This bird is the 8th colour-ringed Baltic Gull from Finland observed in The Netherlands; all other records involved birds seen for only 1-3 days in variousmonths of the year.
