News: 18th World Conference of the International Council for Bird Preservation (ICBP) Since the previous world conference in 1978, ICBP birds as an umbrella organization tremendous development. With the budget and the staff has also grown the organization. the results were 6 to August 11, 1982 in Cambridge, clear observable for more than 200 delegates - For almost 50 countries and nine international representing organizations - who are enthusiastic participated in this conference. During the first two day organizational matters were discussed. on 9, 10 and 11 August were symposia on tropical forests, islands and sea birds, important themes of the current ICBP program. Many of the ambitious plans of ICBP will must be performed by national and international Sections and working groups. This is a stimulating challenge for aile ICBP groups and employees. The seven persons Netherlands at the conference represented, in the hope that this joint written report echoes some of the confidence they have the new price of ICBP.
