OUWENEEL GL (1995) Nestbuilding and displaying Red-necked Grebes Podiceps grisegena on Lake Grevelingen. LIMOSA 68 (2): 78-78.

On July 16, 1994 six Red-necked Grebes were present at a site where this species has been summering regularly in recent years. Two of the six birds were observed nest building, displaying, and mating on the nest that day. The nest was situated among stones in the water at the foot of the dam closing off saline but tide-less Lake Grevelingen (Delta area, SW-Netherlands). The nest had disappeared a week later.
