IWRB (1996) Actualities: Wetlands International come to Wageningen. LIMOSA 69 (3): 147-147.

Wageningen is chosen as the new place of Wetlands International (WI). WI, internationally The main organization that deals with the protection of wetlands, was founded in October 1995 the integration of the International Waterfowl Research Office (IWRB), the Asian Wetland Bureau (AWB) and Wetlands for the Americas (WA). the IWRB organized including global counts of waterfowl, published about it and was involved in protective actions. The other two organizations were created from initiatives to bescherrning of waders in their migration route. Approximately 25 staff members of the WI will Wageningen temporarily settle in the building of the DLO-Staring Centre, but will move to IBN-DLO once the new building is ready. The staff in Wageningen is responsible for international cotirdinatie of WI (which uses a global network of 3,000 scientists), and the activities Europe, Middle East and Africa.
