ROOTH J (1982) Actualities: 28th Annual International Waterfowl Research Bureau. LIMOSA 55 (3): 101-103.

The annual board meeting of the International Waterfowl Research Bureau (IWRB) was of 24 until May 29, 1982 in Edmonton (Alberta), Canada was held. To this was attached a symposium on breeding biology of waterfowl breeding areas and management. The latter was shown by the field of excursions. Except North America played South America is also an important part in the deliberations. It was gratifying that almost aile South American and some Central American states represented were. There were over 100 participants from 30 countries. There were several international organizations represented: International Council for Bird Preservation (ICBP) International Council for the Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC), International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IDCN), United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF). the following Dutch took part in the discussions: A. 1. Beintema (RIN) with a presentation on management of grassland birds, E. Carp (Tour du Valat) IWRB as advisor, B. Fang (Stinasu) representing of Suriname, F. Leeuwenberg (Management Wildlife management) as coordinator of the Hunting Harvest Research Group, 1. Roath (RIN) as a national delegate the IWRB, C. f. Smit (RIN) as coordinator Wader Research Group (Old World).
